I'm a bit wary of the conclusions though, because your model of game player ignores potential individual differences in luck preference and desiring agency. It may be that some players would prefer to maintain the luck attribution handy or ride the wave of outrageous fortune, e.g., those with an external locus. I imagine it would be hard to explain the appeal of gambling if it were not for something like this.
